Officers from the New Rochelle Police Department responded to a stretch of Webster Avenue shortly after 2 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 11, where there was a report of an armed robbery that had just taken place.
New Rochelle Police Capt. Cosmo Costa said that the 21-year-old victim reported that he had left a friend’s apartment on 1st Street, and was robbed on the first-floor stairwell of the building by three suspects.
The victim said that he was approached by an African American woman and two African American men, one of whom was brandishing a knife and forcibly stole $800 from the man.
Police said that the only descriptive information provided was that the man who displayed the knife was wearing a red jacket and all three were wearing face masks.
